Charting / Company Analysis                   [Top]

Plotting is simple. There are dedicated screens for the most common charts that you will use (eg. price chart, price and averages chart, price and comparison, etc).

Just select a share name and the chart will be scaled and drawn automatically so that it fills the screen perfectly. If you wish you can choose the chart scales yourself to show just the part of the chart that interests you.

There are also custom screens where you can design your own charts. Click a button and a line appears (eg. price, average, high, low, stop loss, etc). Click again and the line disappears. It is so easy.

Once you have set a chart design you can draw the same chart for the next share with a single click. AutoPlot lets you do this automatically.

WatchDog                                            [Top]

Biggest Movers: Know instantly which shares have been on the move. This will show share movements over time for all shares being recorded. Download prices and immediately see the biggest movers over a day, a week, a month, you choose. Highlight any share name and click a button to see a chart of that share.

Share Watch: See how your shares are doing. Look at your portfolios and/or a watch list of shares that interest you and see the winners and losers. Highlight any share name and click a button to see a chart of that share.

Stop Losses: Know when to sell. You can list any share that has fallen below its stop loss for all the portfolios that you are managing.

Valuations: Know your position. You can see an instant valuation of all portfolios and/or bank accounts with the latest prices.

Share Search: List your holdings. You can search all your portfolios for shareholdings in any share.

Portfolio Management                            [Top]

It is very easy to enter your existing shares and dividends. Just enter the share name and details of the transaction or dividend and the program does the rest. Share prices can be typed in whenever required or more probably downloaded from Meridian Data. The program will instantly revalue your investments.

Portfolios can be subdivided into business and geographic sectors to help you monitor your investments. You can draw bar or pie charts to analyse your holdings by sector or investment type.

Highlight any share name in one of the entry screens and click a button to draw a chart for that share instantly from the database.

A wide range of reports is available. List a summary of your current investments. List dividends received in a year for the tax-man. Reports can show summaries of current and past holdings, transactions, dividends and cash accounts. Reports can be general and show all transactions, dividends, etc or can be specific and show, for example, just sales, sales between two dates, dividends in one tax year, etc.

Automatic Data Entry                             [Top]

Automatic updating makes life so much easier! Investor 3 lets you update every day from Meridian Data.

The closing prices are available for downloading in the evening or the following day. With Meridian Data you can also download prices for the whole week at one go at the weekend.

With any service share names are added and deleted with time. The program can handle this and will update the list of shares and add new names to the files at the click of a button.

Welcome Screen: Nothing to learn. There is now a Welcome screen which will appear when you run the program to guide you to all the main features that you will need. Become an expert user faster.

Wizards: Downloading made easy. Use our Wizards to enter the details needed to start downloading data.

Wizards: Practice Portfolio. Set up a practice portfolio to see how much money you can make without risk!

Web Pages: Direct access to financial data. You can also go straight to any share-specific financial web page at the click of a button. This is very useful. Normally you would have to go to the start page of the financial web-site, click on a button to send you to, say, the research page and then select the share that you want. That can take time. With Investor 3 you can select the share name, select the web-site and go straight there. As an example, click here and you will go straight to the research page for Barclays Bank on Yahoo.
